Just Married

Ok... Haven't shot a wedding for... Well lets put it this way, the last wedding I shot was way before the digital age!

My Good friends RJ and Deann tied the knot this summer in the beautiful Boulder Mountains in central Utah...

I had a blast shooting digital. It kinda felt like cheating, being able to shoot and tweek on the fly!

Hell's Backbone Grill was the venue for many of the festivities! The welcoming and professional staff provided unbelievably outrageous food, and fabulous service...
I highly recommend it!

"Sadie Lou" Actress Headshot

"Hey, can you do me a favor? I need a headshot for an audition; can you help me out?"

"Sure, when do you need it?"

"Tomorrow Morning!"

"Yikes! Can you come by right away?"

We started shooting at 8:30 pm. Finished at 9:15 pm. Photoshopped and delivered at 10:15 pm!
Probably not a record, but it was for me... Fasted headshot ever! Sadie Lou made it easy. She is a very talented kid!

Audition went well... She will hear back soon!

"They loved my headshot! Thanks!"

I love this stuff!

Wow... Time flies!

Here we are at the beginning of April. I have been busy working on my website, turning over rocks, hoping for the best in this new economy.

Meanwhile I wanted to post some photos from the Pioneer Crossing bridge move I worked on. Who thinks of this stuff? Moving bridge spans on multi wheeled platforms? It's very cool stuff. And for a kid who grew up in a teeny little mining town it is awesome. I have always liked to watch heavy equipment doing its thing; what kid doesn't? And this is some big stuff! These spans way 400,000,000 pounds! Thats right 400 million pounds! And they moved two of them last fall, and will move two more late spring. It takes 12-20 hours to move one of these beasts. I shot stills and shot time lapse video form three locations. It was a blast. I was able to reduce the move time to 5 min on HD Video. It looks so cool! Here are a few pics. Really hoping to do some more industrial stuff. It brings out the little kid in me!

And the adventure continues! If you are very observant you have probably seen subtle changes in the look and feel of this blog. I have been tweeking it a bit with my new HTML and editing skills. I still have a lot to learn, but I'm having a blast messing with these new tools. I will be posting some new images soon, I am just waiting for client permission. I have also been considering the idea of providing some photography tips and how to's related to the images I am posting. Let me know if think you would find this interesting.

As the Saints and the Colts head to the Super Bowl... I am just settling into the coding of my new website... Wow, what a challenge! I am really digging learning the code thing, and it gives me a great deal of respect for those guys that write code out there day in and day out. These guys are also very talented artist. Crafting code is pretty amazing. I've had an awesome week putting together a new ad for my friends at Got Beauty, and continuing to edit photos for the Bennion Jewelers website. I have tons to do, thank God. Listening for that phone to ring so we can keep this thing going! I will be posting more photos and will continue to update you all on the progress of the new website. Thanks for all the support! Peace...

Smoggy Sunday here in Salt Lake City, eerie kinda dark and cold... Inversion should clear out today they say. That should make breathing a little easier!

Today I'm editing photos I shot for my friend, and client Bill Bennion. Bennion Jewelers is here in Salt Lake City, Utah on the corner of 100 south and Main St. Bill has been a client for several years, and I'm grateful we are working together again We are currently updating his product photography as well as overhauling his website. Stay tuned, If you want to see his current site visit http://www.bennionjewelers.com...

I will also be looking over some shots I took Friday afternoon for Kiewit/Clyde. They are the company replacing all the bridges along the I15 corridor along the Wasatch Front. There new Beck Street Bridge will be open to traffic today so we phtotographed the crew that made that happen on the new bridge!

ZMC PHOTO Day One

As we begin this adventure together I would like to let you know where I'm going with my life as a shooter and designer!!! I have been making images for over 25 years now... I took a little break a few years ago after some major changes in my life, tried some new things. After some serious prodding by a very dear friend I agreed to start shooting again.. It took awhile to feel confident and creative, but the fire is back!!! I am so stoked to be shooting for many old and new clients, it is my passion, and I feel blessed to be doing what I love. One of my favorite authors is Marianne Williamson, in her book, A Return to Love, she talks about singers singing, and artists painting.. using the gifts and blessing you came to this planet with... I'm pleased to be back and I will take you on this new adventure with me, through this blog... Many thanks to my lovely friend for helping me see my gift again!

Peace!
